Commissioning
& Pricing

The commissioning and installation of a stained glass panel is a beautiful addition to your home.
The initial step is to select a design. This may depend on the period of your house, or you maybe wishing to compliment, or match existing panels.

I have many pattern books of period and contemporary templates that offer a wide selection of designs.

It is also possible for me to produce a stained glass panel of your own design.

I can either come to your home, or we can arrange for you to meet me in my workshop in Firle.

Once a design has been selected and dimensions given, I will then be able to proceed and to supply you with an estimate.

The cost of any given panel depends on several factors, namely, the complexity of design, the overall dimensions of the panel, the type of glass selected and to a certain degree, the colours selected.

As a rule of thumb, the more ‘hot’ the colour the more expensive the glass.

It is quite possible, however, to produce stained glass panels to suit ones budget by modifying elements within the design, or within the selection of glass.

It is equally possible, with regard to the above, to add more detail to any given design, or to select a more expensive glass such as Lamberts mouth- blown glass, if ones budget allows.

Once I have supplied an estimate and if it is of interest, I will then proceed to produce a scale drawing of the proposed panel.

It is at this stage I ask for a deposit of 30%. This is a drawing and materials fee and will be deducted from the total cost on completion.

Once I have completed the drawing of the proposed panel, I then invite you over to my workshop in Firle to view.

This is to make sure that the design is exactly how you envisage the panel to be.

It is at this stage any design elements, if necessary, can be modified and altered to suit.

After the design has been agreed the type and colours of glass can be selected.

Once you are happy with the design and glass selection I then proceed to cut and assemble the panel.

I take time with all details of my work and am happy to help and advise on all aspects of the commissioning process.

In addition to the manufacture, I can install the panel if you so wish.

I have full public liability insurance.

All estimates are free of charge.
